⛅ 3 High-Level Goals That Will Change Your Life for the Better
Guaranteed year-over-year improvement
Is that…mistletoe hanging up there? 😉 🎅
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas!
Just a heads up, I’m taking a break from the newsletter to fully relax and enjoy the holidays. Will be back at it in the new year and am looking forward to what 2022 has in store.
Onward!
Today, I'm going to share with you the 3 most important goals in my life bar none.
These goals are more like themes that are always on my mind in everything that I do. Every year, I make a little more progress on each one and my life continues to improve. I thought it would be all downhill after 25, but at 32, the happiness graph just keeps trending upward.
Chase these goals and you will forever change your life for the better.
Goal #1 Do more of what you want
This is the ultimate goal for a happy life.
The older I get the more I realize happiness is all about doing more of what you want and less of what you don’t.
Drop commitments that you dread
Do more things that you're excited about
Find ways to intersect your "have to do's" with "want to do's"
Goal #2 Don't make health a hindrance
When you're sick or injured, there's only one thing you hope for with every fiber of your being — to be healthy again.
I've been struggling for the last 1.5 years with a nagging herniated disc in my lower back, and I can tell you being hindered by your health is one of the worst feelings in the world. That's why stretching, sitting less, and moving more are my main priorities until I'm 100% again.
Goal #3 Find ways to help others
I feel the most fulfilled when I do things that lift others up.
Articles (like this one) that make a direct impact in others' lives give me way more satisfaction than any of the work I do in my engineering corporate job. There's no better feeling than receiving an email from a reader telling you about a story you shared 3 years ago that changed their life's trajectory.
Keep improving on these goals year after year
I hope you'll find that your life just keeps getting better.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s newsletter. If you liked it, consider passing it along to a friend or two. Would greatly appreciate the help in spreading the word.
Best,
